Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in the state employed.
• Peripheral IV certification.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience.
• One-year management experience preferred.
• One-year geriatrics and subacute population experience.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the daily delivery of nursing care and staff performance.
• Plan and conduct shift staff meetings to identify and correct problems.
• Identify problems in nursing care and implement corrective actions.
• Report to the Director of Nursing as necessary.
• Develop methods coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
• Investigate accidents, including staff interviews and data gathering.
• Interpret nursing policies to personnel, residents, visitors, and agencies.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident information.
• Develop work assignments and delegate authority.
• Conduct daily rounds of assigned units.
• Follow up on complaints and take corrective action.
• Ensure emergency equipment/supply checks each shift.
• Maintain a clean and safe resident environment.
• Participate in orientation for new staff.
• Complete performance evaluations and staff development.
• Initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure nursing staff comply with procedures and dress code.
• Schedule adequate nursing staff for shifts to maintain quality care.
• Monitor time and attendance; correct as needed.
• Recommend employee dismissals or transfers to the Director of Nursing.
• Plan and conduct unit-based in-services.
• Monitor use of equipment and supplies for efficiency.
• Ensure prompt repair or replacement of equipment.
• Oversee safe, efficient, customer-oriented nursing care.
• Observe admissions and prepare rooms for new residents.
• Visit residents to monitor status; review nurse notes.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
• Monitor medication administration and MAR accuracy.
• Participate in quality improvement and infection control programs.
• Ensure safety and compliance with protocols.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

Current registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse

Peripheral IV certification

Two years of clinical nursing experience

One-year experience in a management position preferred

One-year experience in geriatrics and subacute population

CPR/BLS certified

The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required
