Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced Labor & Birth nurse leader to support the Chief Nursing Officer in delivering safe, high-quality care at Love Family Women's Center, Mercy Hospital. The role focuses on staffing, resource utilization, productivity goals, and cross-department collaboration to improve patient care processes.

You will supervise nursing staff, ensure licensure and certifications are current, and guide team in obstetrics and mother-baby services with a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• RN must hold a current license in the state of practice.
• BSN preferred; nursing degree from an approved program.
• Minimum three years nursing experience; leadership/management preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire.
• Strong human relations and communication skills; broad patient care understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in delivering safe, quality, and cost-efficient care.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources and meet productivity/financial goals.
• Meet customer service satisfaction goals and collaborate with other departments.

Overview

Responsible for assisting the Chief Nursing Officer in the delivery of safe, quality and cost-efficient care by having competent staff members in the department. Ensures efficient utilization of available resources and meets productivity and/or financial goals. Meets customer service satisfaction goals. Works collaboratively and effectively with other administrative personnel, physicians and staff from other areas throughout the Hospital to enhance communication, share pertinent data and improve processes across the continuum.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Licensure: Current license in applicable State of practice for Registered Nurse.
• Experience: Minimum three years nursing experience. Previous leadership/management experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Other: Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have broad understanding of the patient care process and be able to demonstrate clinical expertise in their area of responsibility.

About Our Unit

We are high-paced, high-energy unit specializing in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care along Post Women’s Surgical unit. Within our unit we have: 40-MB rooms, 15-LDR rooms, 14-High Risk Antepartum, 8-bed OBED unit, 4-LIBC Birthing Suites, 4-Pre Post Rooms, and 3-OR suites (where we circulate all of our own cases).

Within our unit we also have full-time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatient and outpatients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and second leading in the Ministry. Our teams offer a comprehensive suite of services at the Love Family's Women's Center.
