Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Red Bank, NJ, is seeking a Nursing Services Manager to provide strategic leadership for our Emergency, Critical Care, In-Patient Care, and Radiology nursing teams.

This senior operations role partners with hospital leadership to shape staffing, budgets, clinical governance, and continuous education, delivering exceptional patient care while supporting a positive, professional work environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT).
  • 5+ years in veterinary clinical role with significant Emergency and Critical Care.
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role (lead, supervisor, manager).
  • Fluent English (speaking & reading) required.

We are currently seeking a Nursing Services Manager to provide strategic leadership for our Emergency, Critical Care, In-Patient Care, and Radiology nursing teams. If you’re a veterinary leader looking to work in a cutting-edge environment, Red Bank Veterinary Hospital offers the opportunity to work in a new, 100,000+ sq. ft. state-of-the-art hospital designed for advanced specialty and emergency care. With MRI, CT, PET scanning, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated ER, and expanded training spaces, RBVH combines innovative medicine with compassionate care for pets, clients, and team members alike.

Compensation
  • $90,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience
  • +Up to $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Job Description:

The Nursing Services Manager is the senior-most clinical operations leader within the hospital overseeing all aspects of nursing and clinical support services while upholding the highest standards of care. This role is responsible for strategic planning, staff development, operational workflows, budget management, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture aligned with hospital-wide goals. It's pivotal in linking nursing activities with overall hospital objectives and advancing initiatives that support both the organization’s mission and the broader veterinary nursing profession.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Financial Management
  • Lead nursing strategic planning aligned with hospital goals. Manage budget, labor costs, and staffing to ensure financial health and quality care.
  • Prepare business cases for equipment purchases and collaborate with Medical Directors on priorities.
Talent Management & Staff Development
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management. Foster continuous education and growth.
  • Coach Clinical Coordinators and conduct evaluations to maintain high standards.
Patient Care & Clinical Quality
  • Ensure exceptional patient care by implementing best practices and clinical governance.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance to address issues and promote ongoing improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance client experience.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Maintain open communication across departments to support patient care and efficiency.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary meetings and develop transparent communication protocols.
Professional Advocacy & Education
  • Lead and engage in professional activities to advance veterinary nursing.
  • Promote ongoing education to maintain cutting-edge clinical knowledge.
Emergency Preparedness
  • Lead nursing emergency responses and maintain team readiness through training.
  • Coordinate emergency plans with hospital operations.

  • Provide weekend and 24/7 on-call leadership support.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree
  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
  • At least 5 years of experience working in veterinary clinical role with significant Emergency and Critical Care experience required
  • At least 2 years of full-time work experience in a leadership role (lead, supervisor, manager).
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
