Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, Oregon is seeking a Cath Lab Nurse Manager to lead the interventional team, coordinate departmental activities, and ensure safe, evidence-based patient care during operative procedures.

The role requires RN licensure in Oregon, 5+ years in Cath Lab/IR, and strong leadership. A BSN is required; MSN and CNOR are preferred, with EHR and Microsoft Office proficiency. This is a day shift leader role in Surgical Services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Oregon; BLS, ACLS, PALS, & TNCC required; CNOR preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience.
  • Previous Manager experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; Electronic Health Record experience.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams knowledge preferred.

Salary Range: $136,100.00-$223,069.00


The Cath Lab Nurse Manager works with the Surgical Services leadership team and hospital nursing supervisor to coordinate departmental activities over a 24-hour period and reports to the Director of Surgical Services. They are responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the intraoperative nursing care provided to patients having operative or other invasive procedures. The role requires a working knowledge of the medical/legal and accreditation aspects of nursing and includes direct supervision of RNs, LPNs, Surgical Technologists, Interventional Techs, Perioperative Aides, CNAs, and unit clerks.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:



  • Manage the Cath Lab area both operationally and fiscally.

  • Assist in developing the operational and capital budget.

  • Verify that Cath Lab personnel provide safe patient care in the area managed.

  • Incorporate and assist with Cath Lab personnel with assimilating evidence-based practices into patient care.

  • Assist Cath Lab personnel in evaluating practice and creating strategies for further improvement.

  • Verify that educational resources are available for team education and hold personnel accountable for attendance and completion.

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and manage changes within the Cath Lab.

  • Demonstrate effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders.

  • Collect and analyze data related to performance improvement projects that apply to the area managed.

  • Use effective conflict resolution techniques.

  • Facilitate or serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning Cath Lab patient care.

  • Evaluate Cath Lab personnel performance.

  • Interview for Cath Lab personnel selection.

  • Verify that necessary Cath Lab personnel, equipment, and supplies are available.

  • Verify Cath Lab personnel compliance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to surgical team.

  • Exhibit professional, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Use effective project management principles.

  • Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.

  • Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

  • Maintain nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.

  • Ensure operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability, completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories

  • The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.

  • Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education


Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.


Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing.


Licenses/ certifications/ registrations


Required: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon. BLS, ACLS, PALS, & TNCC.


Preferred: CNOR.


Experience


Required: Minimum of 5 years of Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience.


Preferred: Previous Manager experience.


Other:


Required: Basic computer skills. Electronic Health Record experience.


Preferred: Microsoft Knowledge (Word, Excel, Teams).


Physical Requirements:

The position also involves occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling when assisting patients or accessing equipment. Walking and standing are typically continuous throughout the shift. The role requires the ability to lift to 50 pounds independently and involves frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, or repositioning of objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds. There may also be occasional lifting or transferring of individuals weighing over 100 pounds, with the expectation that appropriate lifting techniques, mechanical aids, or team assistance will be used to ensure safety. May to sit for long periods of time.


Working Conditions:


This position is performed primarily in an indoor healthcare environment, such as a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility. While the work setting is protected from outdoor weather conditions, it may be subject to variable indoor temperatures. The role involves frequent exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment, with the expectation that all staff follow appropriate safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.


The health care environment can be fast-paced and unpredictable, requiring the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, including high-pressure or emergency situations. The work setting also involves multiple simultaneous demands and varying levels of noise due to medical equipment, staff activity, and patient needs.
