A leading healthcare institution in Kentucky is seeking a Nursing Manager to oversee patient care services and ensure adequate staffing. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Nursing is responsible for the promotion of health and prevention of illness by providing patient care and supportive services directed towards the achievement of positive patient care outcomes.
Nursing Services is responsible for the overall direction of several nursing departments. Directs patient care services and ensures adequate staffing for the units or departments. Assists in establishing and implementing nursing policies, standards, and models.
People Leader - Managerial - Work is primarily achieved through others with direct accountability for setting direction and deploying resources. Responsible for leading people including conducting performance management, reviewing pay, and typically making employment decisions. Accountable for business or operational processes and/or program management. Utilizes business acumen and industry or discipline knowledge to directly or indirectly influence others. Manages a team of two or more individuals who deliver work product related to an expected core competency of the leadership role.
Manages operations, front line supervisors and/or individual contributors who exercise moderate independence in assignments. May be responsible for the training and orientation of two or more employees; typically reports to an Associate Director/Senior Manager (M3), Director (M4), or Assistant/Associate Dean. Knowledge of principals within body of formal knowledge or in-depth knowledge across multiple work areas. Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals. Uses judgement, evaluation and interpretation to help others select the right course of action. Impact is typically on medium-term (1‑2 year) goals; translates goals into operational activities and guides their execution. Develops and manages initiatives to deliver results. Interacts with peers, individual contributors and stakeholders to discuss and resolve operational matters. May influence or explain to other outside of immediate area policies, practices and procedures to gain cooperation.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse. 5 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
