Job summary

Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager to oversee nursing operations on a 24-hour basis across GI Lab, Preadmission Testing, PACU and Day Surgery.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in nursing within 3 years of appointment, a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and 2 years in leadership, and an active RN license. The position is full-time and based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program; bachelor's degree required within 3 years in position or effective date of job description.
• Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of recent clinical experience; Two (2) years of leadership/managerial experience.
• Licensure Requirement: Current state registered nurse license.

Responsibilities

• Selects, trains, orients, develops and evaluates performance of the department staff; ensures staffing mix and allocation.
• Develops departmental budgets; administers operations within budgeted parameters.
• Maintains operational reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Coordinates and reports outcomes of nursing activities performed on behalf of patients.
• Establishes and maintains communication between the nursing unit, medical staff and ancillary departments for problem solving and quality improvement.
• Ensures establishment and implementation of unit goals and objectives aligned with facility and system.
• Supervises, institutes, and evaluates nursing interventions and documentation.
• Works with other disciplines to ensure timely, efficient, and effective patient care.
• Facilitates professional development of staff with accountability for retention.
• Follows policies, safety standards and completes required education assignments annually.

Position Summary

Is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Manager position.

• Supervises, institutes, and evaluates nursing interventions and documentation.


• Works collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure patient care is timely, efficient, and effective.


• Facilitates professional development of staff with accountability for staff retention.


• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.


• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
