University Behavioral Health of Denton is seeking an experienced Nursing Director to lead the Nursing Department, oversee Lead Mental Health Technicians, Mental Health Technicians and Nurses, and ensure quality patient care.
This FT exempt role reports to the CNO, directs staffing according to census and acuity, oversees infection control and employee health programs, and supports ongoing training and competency development for all Nursing staff.

Position Summary:
Directs and provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing for quality patient care provided to patients in the Facility. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Lead Mental Health Technicians, Mental Health Technicians and Nurses to enhance the quality of the patient care. Provides sufficient staffing and schedules personnel according to census and acuity. Directs and implements the Infection Control and Employee Health Programs. Oversees the new hire and annual training programs as well as on-going competency based education for all Nursing Department employees.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master's preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
