Job summary

Nye Health Services in Nebraska is launching a Nurse Leader in Training (NLIT) program for RNs with at least one year of clinical experience who want to move into leadership. The role offers hands-on clinical work, formal leadership coaching, and structured mentorship across Fremont, Louisville, or Lincoln facilities.

Participants gain skills to manage teams, oversee quality care, contribute to policy implementation, and advance into charge nurse or nurse manager roles.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nebraska.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
• 2 years in other nurse leadership roles preferred (charge nurse, MDS, Clinical Coordinator, etc.).
• Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in pursuing leadership roles in nursing.
• Ability to work at Fremont, Louisville, and Lincoln locations.

Responsibilities

• Aid in managing budgets and monitoring nursing department expenses.
• Assist with implementing policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
• Contribute to monitoring resident satisfaction and improvements as needed.
• Ensure infection control and safety practices are followed.
• Support performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Participate in structured leadership development under guidance of experienced nurse leaders.
• Provide direct patient care while learning leadership skills, including team coordination, scheduling, and performance management.
• Serve as a point of contact for resident care concerns or complaints.
