Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the 3G medical‑surgical unit in Frederick, MD. The unit features 41 all-private rooms and Magnet designation, emphasizing safe, patient‑centered care and ongoing staff development.
You will work under the supervision of an RN, provide nursing care using the nursing process, and participate in continuous quality improvement within a fast-paced environment.
Unit Description:
3G is the largest medical-surgical nursing unit at Frederick Health Hospital, featuring 41 all private patient rooms. Our team provides comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, caring for individuals with a wide range of medical diagnoses as well as patients recovering from various surgical procedures.
Our fast-paced environment provides staff with the opportunities to care for patients with varying levels of complexity while developing a broad range of skills. Job Summary
Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
Under the direct supervision of a licensed RN, provides patient care using the nursing process and performs leadership and teaching duties necessary that supports effective patient care. Supports and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Functions within the limits of the State and Federal licensing, regulatory bodies and hospital policies.

The following certifications are required for the nursing units specified. Each certification must be completed within 1 year of hire.
§ 2C (Oncology/Thorasic) – Chemotherapy
§ L&D, OB/OR – NRP, C-EFM w/in 3 years
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups * This would be based on designated patient population for each nursing department.
Physical Demands:
Medium-Heavy Work – Lifting up to 100 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes) and/or carrying up to 50 pounds while walking. Pushing or pulling up to 115 pounds infrequently or greater than 115 pounds occasionally (no more than once per hour).
Ergonomic Risk Factors:

Awkward Posture : Posture is the position your body is in and its effect on the muscle groups that are involved in the physical activity. Awkward postures include repeated or prolonged reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, working overhead with your hands or arms, or holding fixed positions.
Contact Stress : Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.

Full time (3) 12hr shifts/week, night shift (7p-7:30a) with weekend and holiday commitments

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Pay rate: $36.79/hr
