TriCities Hospital is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN Float Pool to gain hands-on experience and support the nursing team. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and learn under supervision to progress toward more advanced nursing responsibilities.

As a current RN student, you will perform basic nursing tasks, document care, and communicate with the team while following infection prevention practices. The role emphasizes growth and learning opportunities within our hospital setting.

Qualifikationen

• Must be currently enrolled in an RN program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and grow in your competency.
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated.
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery.
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment.
• Championing your growth and enhancing patient care by engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nurse Extern, you’ll be a valued part of the nursing team, gaining hands‑on experience as you explore the full scope of the Registered Nurse role.
