Job summary

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Nurse Extern to assist on the Internal Medicine unit (5NE). The role is on-site with very part-time hours and involves learning under RN supervision, including assessments, care planning, and patient care tasks.

Applicants should be enrolled in a nursing program or prepared to take the NCLEX; Wisconsin nursing assistant certification is preferred; BLS within 90 days of hire is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing or graduate ready to take NCLEX.
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is preferred; or documentation from an accredited nursing school showing completion of basic nursing course.
• AHA BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a patient group under RN supervision.
• Perform basic patient care tasks with attention to safety and documentation.
