Advocate Health is offering a Nurse Extern II position at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee under the Best Fit Program. The role provides exposure to three Med/Surg units with first-week orientation totaling 36–40 hours and one 8-hour shift weekly thereafter.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Successful completion of a Medical Surgical Course that includes pharmacological concepts.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to interruptions and changing priorities/workload.

Responsibilities

• Under the observation of the Registered Nurse, completes activities of daily living, vital sign completion and blood glucose monitoring.
• Collaborates with the RN in establishing a plan of care.
• Under RN supervision, administers medication as delegated by the RN.
• Demonstrates clinical judgment and skill proficiency prior to medication administration.
