Job summary

McLeod Health Cheraw is seeking a nursing student in an active program to assist with direct patient care on a PRN basis. You will help maintain patient hygiene, monitor environments, and participate in safety-focused rounds under supervision.

Requirements include enrollment in a nursing program and BLS certification. This role supports flexible scheduling and hands-on clinical learning within a respectful team setting at McLeod Health.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a nursing program and has completed fundamentals of nursing.
• BLS required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and maintains cleanliness of patients, environment, and unit.
• Supports safe medication storage and handling (e.g., IVs, alcohol, saline, prepackaged kits).
• Conducts hourly rounds following Service Excellence Standards.
• Promotes comfort and safety for patients and visitors.
• Assists with nutritional/hydration interventions (feeding, fluids, snacks).
• Records and communicates patient data to the interdisciplinary team.
• Performs direct patient care tasks and documents related data.
• Engages in evidence-based practice and professional growth.
• Maintains health and safety for patients and staff.
• Provides transportation and courier duties as directed.
