Job summary

Valley Baptist is seeking a Nurse Extern in Harlingen, TX to support RN staff by performing patient care activities and assisting in planning, implementation and evaluation of care. The program targets nursing students in approved RN programs, offering exposure to multiple clinical areas.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of the first clinical rotation and current AHA BLS certification, with comprehensive benefits available. Per diem, daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program and progressing through first clinical rotation.
• No prior work experience required.
• Certification: AHA BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities.
• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation and evaluation.
• Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse.

Per Diem, Days

This is a developmental program for nursing students who want to develop multiple and varied clinical skills in a multiple nursing specialities. This position requires participation in a guided training and development program alinged to the scope outlines by the State-specific Board of Nursing.

The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for RN nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities, which includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations toa Registered Nurse.

Education
Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.

Experience
Required: None.

Certifications
Required: AHA BLS
