Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Roswell, NM is seeking a Nurse Extern for variable shift, PRN status. You will perform clinical tasks under the supervision of an RN and Nurse Manager, assisting with basic patient care and safety.

This role supports your nursing education, with emphasis on hands-on experience, adherence to policies, and successful integration into a hospital team. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be enrolled in an Accredited Nursing program with anticipated completion within 12 months from date of hire.
• One year of previous job-related experience.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: Completion of approved nursing assistant course.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing technical procedures as authorized under the direction of an RN and/or Nurse Manager.
• In addition, performs basic nursing assistant responsibilities.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
