Job summary

Culpeper Health & Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, VA is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator (RN) to lead our state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program. The educator will guide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction, mentoring students and ensuring competency before clinical skills.

The role emphasizes teaching, role-modeling professional standards, and coordinating with nursing teams to deliver high-quality, person-centered care. Virginia RN licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN licensure in Virginia.
• Two years nursing experience, at least one year in long-term care preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved Train-the-Trainer course or willingness to complete prior to start.
• Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Passion for education, mentoring, and clinical excellence.
• Familiarity with OBRA requirements and nurse aide training standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical instruction using the Virginia Board of Nursing-approved nurse aide curriculum.
• Educate, mentor, supervise, and evaluate nurse aide students throughout the program.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, attendance records, student evaluations, skills documentation, and other required program records.
• Create an engaging, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure students demonstrate competency before performing skills in the clinical setting.
• Maintain compliance with Virginia Board of Nursing requirements and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with center leadership and nursing teams to connect classroom learning with high-quality, person-centered care.
• Serve as a professional role model and help students successfully transition into healthcare careers.
