Job Summary:
Manages educational department, in accordance with current standards of practice, rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility to ensure facility compliance. Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the education program in the facility based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Plans and publishes the in-service calendar for all mandatory in-services.
- Arranges education programs and staff trainings during the year.
- Provides regular continuing education programs for nurses.
- Conducts an annual competency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for their performance evaluation.
- Acts as the liaison between the nursing instructors and affiliated students.
- Maintains a resource center with current geriatric literature and other media.
- Maintains and submits to HR all training attendance documentation.
- Compiles necessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies.
- Supervises student instructors during any resident contact and care.
- Supervise the CNA Class

Qualifications:
- Current NM RN License.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in nursing supervision or nursing management in a long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitative, and nursing care.
- Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities.
