Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse III Nurse Educator for the Austin State Supported Living Center. This role focuses on guiding nursing staff, delivering education on health maintenance, and aligning practice with state standards.

Applicants must hold RN licensure in Texas, with a preference for those possessing a Bachelor’s degree and leadership experience. Regular daytime hours; travel up to 5% may be required; telework is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse licensed in Texas or via reciprocity.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a practicing RN; 2+ preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; supervisory/administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient new nursing staff to facility protocols and procedures.
• Provide training and education to staff on health maintenance and prevention.
• Track and update data related to Nursing Education.
• Coordinate the orientation of nursing students.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
• Work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff.
