Job summary

Providence Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialist to advance nurses' practice and role competence through orientation and onboarding, competency management, education, and collaboration.

The NPD practitioner serves as a change agent, mentor and learning facilitator, guiding practice transitions and inquiry to improve population health and patient care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must meet criteria to sit for the NCLEX and become licensed in Texas.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 3 years related nursing experience.
• 1 year recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing professional development, orientation and onboarding support.
• Manage competency development and ongoing education for nursing staff.
• Foster collaborative partnerships and practice transitions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• 1 year Clinical experience in area of specialty, if applicable
• Experience with ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program.
• Experience as a nurse planner in an ANCC approved provider unit
