Aurora Health Care seeks a Nurse Education Specialist to design, coordinate, and evaluate orientation and competency programs for nursing and other healthcare staff in Milwaukee.

You will apply adult learning principles, tailor materials to diverse learners, and collaborate with regional and system leaders to meet education needs and improve patient outcomes.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Nursing and about 3 years of frontline nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Typically requires 3 years of frontline nursing experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates, facilitates and evaluates orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Assists with competency management using data on knowledge and performance.
  • Designs educational activities to address practice gaps with an NPD Specialist.
  • Applies adult learning principles to planning, design, implementation and evaluation of educational activities.
  • Collaborates with leadership to meet education needs and improve patient outcomes.
  • Tailors materials and teaching strategies to learners' development, readiness, language and culture.
