Job description

Turn quality insight into safer care, stronger teams, and lasting community impact as the Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance at a highly regarded not-for-profit critical access county hospital serving a five-county region in Southwest Texas—a career move that pairs visible leadership, modern clinical workflows, professional growth, and an exceptional quality of life.

The Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance will join a mission-driven hospital where clinicians can see the direct results of their work across patient safety, care delivery, and community health. As a cornerstone of healthcare for communities throughout Southwest Texas, this organization offers the stability and purpose of a respected regional provider while preserving the accessibility, autonomy, and leadership visibility often found in a critical access environment. For experienced nurses exploring hospital careers, healthcare leadership jobs, or quality-focused clinical opportunities, this role provides meaningful influence without losing connection to frontline practice.

Within Quality Control and Quality Assurance, the Nurse Supervisor Performance Improvement will help shape a proactive culture built around reliable processes, regulatory readiness, measurable outcomes, and continuous learning. The department partners across nursing, medical staff, pharmacy, laboratory, imaging, therapy, case management, and hospital operations to identify trends, evaluate performance, reduce risk, and strengthen the patient experience. Rather than working in isolation, the Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance will translate clinical data and frontline feedback into practical improvements that support staff judgment, streamline workflows, and advance safe care across the hospital’s five-county service area.

The Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance will coordinate quality improvement activities, support audits and performance reviews, monitor key clinical indicators, assist with policy and regulatory compliance, and guide teams through corrective and preventive action planning. Reporting relationships will be discussed during the recruitment process, but the Nurse Supervisor Performance Improvement can expect close collaboration with hospital leadership, nursing teams, physicians, advanced practice providers, allied health professionals, department managers, and other operational partners. Day to day, this clinical leader will help organize improvement initiatives, educate staff, prepare clear reports, strengthen documentation practices, and ensure that quality priorities remain practical, sustainable, and centered on patients.

For an experienced registered nurse ready to expand beyond direct care or deepen an established quality leadership career, the Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance position offers a compelling next step. The role is well suited to a clinically credible professional who can analyze information, communicate across disciplines, coach colleagues, manage competing priorities, and turn regulatory expectations into effective daily practice. Opportunities to participate in committees, lead education, mentor staff, support accreditation readiness, and contribute to hospital-wide initiatives can broaden the Nurse Supervisor Performance Improvement professional’s expertise and build a foundation for future advancement in quality, patient safety, nursing leadership, risk, or healthcare management.

Living and working in Southwest Texas gives the Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance room to build both a meaningful career and a grounded life. The region is known for wide-open landscapes, scenic drives, river recreation, hunting and outdoor traditions, distinctive local cuisine, and close-knit communities where healthcare professionals become valued neighbors. Compared with larger metropolitan environments, shorter commutes and a less congested pace can leave the Nurse Supervisor Performance Improvement with more time for family, community involvement, and weekend travel, while access to regional destinations such as the Texas Hill Country and San Antonio adds broader dining, cultural, entertainment, and airport options.

The Nurse Coordinator Quality Assurance opportunity includes competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, with specific total-rewards details provided during the recruitment process. Healthcare professionals seeking purposeful nursing jobs, quality assurance careers, performance improvement roles, or hospital leadership opportunities in Southwest Texas are encouraged to take the next step.
