Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Nurse Clinician II (NCII) to provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Harris Health Nursing Standards. The NCII will independently manage patients in the assigned clinical area and seek resources as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a BSN preferred or a nursing diploma from an accredited program, Texas RN licensure, and BLS certification. Language skills and on-call duties may apply in this role.

Qualifications

• RN license in the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or Red Cross
• One year of full-time RN experience or GN program completion
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Knowledge of mathematics and medical terminology

Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.

Degrees

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

Licensure/Certification

Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas

Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program

Other Certificates As Required By Unit/service.

Work Experience: One (1) year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program

Language Skills: Bilingual Skills Preferred
