Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Webster, TX is seeking an Advanced Beginner Clinician. The RN must have six months of clinical RN experience (or completion of probationary NC I) and hold a current Texas RN license with BLS current on file.

This role emphasizes expanding specialty-area nursing knowledge, practicing per Texas Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards, and seeking supervision when needed to provide safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• RN with six months of clinical RN experience and/or successful completion of probationary NC I period documented on nursing evaluation tool.
• Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS required.
• ICU experience and/or CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to nursing standards and ANA guidelines with increasing independence.
• Expand knowledge and skills in the specialty area.
• Collaborate with the care team to support hospital goals and patient outcomes.

Focus is on expanding knowledge and skills for specialty area. Provides patient care through nursing based practices upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance. Values specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
