Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Nurse Clinician II (NCII) to manage patient care in its Houston-area facilities. The NCII applies nursing standards, utilizes clinical algorithms, and works independently while seeking support as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a TX RN license with BLS certification and either 1 year of full-time RN experience or GN program completion. Bilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse patients in Harris County.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degrees:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
  • Other certificates as required by unit/service.
• Work Experience: One (1) year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program
