Job summary

U K Healthcare Ltd in Lexington, KY is seeking an experienced registered nurse to support neuro and vascular procedures. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, preparation, and post-procedure recovery for patients undergoing thrombectomy, thrombolysis, coiling, stenting, angiography, and embolization.

You will develop and implement a comprehensive nursing plan, deliver direct patient care, ensure patient satisfaction, and mentor Nursing Care Technicians, while complying with all policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kentucky or eligible to obtain.
• Experience in neuro/vascular patient care is preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop a comprehensive nursing care plan for patients undergoing neuro and vascular procedures.
• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after procedures such as thrombectomy, thrombolysis, coiling, stenting, angiography, and embolization.
• Coordinate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize communication and patient outcomes.
• Train and delegate duties to Nursing Care Technicians as needed.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Job description

RNs in this area are responsible for the preparation for and recovery of patients undergoing diagnostic and/or therapeutic neuro and vascular procedures such as thrombectomy, thrombolysis, coiling, stenting, angiogram, and embolization.

The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes. This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction.
