Overview

Nurse (Clinical/Case Management) – Tacoma, WA

These 2 positions are within the Directorate of Mental Health, Psychiatry Services and Department of Behavioral Health located at Army Medical Center Madigan, Joint Base Lewis–McChord, Washington.

Location: Joint Base Lewis–McChord (JBLM), approximately 10 minutes from Tacoma and 20 minutes from Olympia. The base is situated along Interstate 5, providing easy access to Seattle, Tacoma, and neighboring communities. The area offers abundant natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements for Nurse (Clinical/Case Management)

Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. The program must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, or another recognized accrediting body. (Note: Attach a copy of transcripts.)

Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.

Foreign Degree: A degree from a foreign nursing school. Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017, or earlier. Exempt candidates must provide documentation verifying status, including a professionally approved nursing program degree and an active professional nurse registration.

Additional Qualification Requirements

Education/Experience: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS‑9 grade level or above) which includes comprehensive health assessments, development and implementation of patient care and treatment plans, and education delivery to patients and staff. (Attach transcripts.)

Or a successful completion of two and a half years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading toward a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.

Foreign Education Evaluation: For foreign education, credentials must be evaluated by a recognized private organization and deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited education or full credit must be granted.
