Job summary

UASI is seeking an experienced charge audit professional to verify and improve hospital charge capture. You will review inpatient and outpatient charges, ensure documentation aligns with billing rules, and collaborate with coding, billing, and clinical teams to drive accuracy.

Applicants should have an active RN or LPN license, 5+ years of clinical nursing experience (ICU/ED/OR/acute care preferred), and familiarity with CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding and EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of clinical nursing experience (ICU, ED, OR, or acute care preferred).
• Experience performing charge audits, chart reviews, and billing validation.
• Solid understanding of medical record documentation and hospital billing processes.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding basics.
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing guidelines.
• Experience using EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.

Requirements

• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding basics
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in revenue integrity or healthcare auditing
• Experience in denials or utilization review
• Familiarity with DRG concepts (MS-DRG or APR-DRG)
• Experience educating staff or supporting process improvements
