Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Assistant to provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. The MG1 Step Down unit supports tele-monitored trauma, bariatric, stroke, and critical care patients with a 3:1-4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

The role requires assisting with patient care, stocking, feeding, and safety rounds, on a 12-hour day shift. High school diploma, CNA registry or clinical rotation, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
• PA Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) or completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program is required.
• 1 year of relevant experience and/or relevant certification (EMT) may be considered in lieu of required certification/clinical rotation.
• BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under RN instruction and physician orders, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Obtains supplies to ensure patient rooms are ready for admission and cleared after discharge/transfer.
• Demonstrates ability to feed patients and records intake and output, with Dysphasia precautions.
