Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Nurse Assistant to provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse on the MedSurg unit. Duties are performed within the scope of training and certification, with responsibilities for the care of hospitalized patients.

Minimum requirements include Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant training; BLS within 2 weeks of hire (must be maintained).

Qualifications

• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) or Red Cross required.

Job Description

The Nurse Assistant performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the hospitalized patient. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs other duties related to the work described herein.

Minimum Requirements: Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training. Credentials: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
