Job summary

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Nurse Assistant for the Float Pool in West Bloomfield. The role supports RN-directed patient care, performing vitals, venipuncture, and team rounds while communicating concerns to the supervising RN. A CNA is preferred; one year of NA/PCT/PAT experience is advantageous before consideration.

Location: West Bloomfield, Michigan. Shift: Variable. The position requires adherence to team standards and ongoing education participation as part of the Float Pool team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• CNA preferred; one year of experience preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles may vary; e.g., PCT or PAT but similar role).
• May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Foreign trained and licensed RN who relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
• At least one year of NA/PCT/PAT or similar experience.

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

These duties may include but are not limited to:

• - Vitals
• - Performs venipuncture and chemsticks
• - Team roundings
• - Identifies concerns related to patients, staff, and self, and communicates with the responsible RN

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• CNA preferred, One year of experinece preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g.,
• Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.)
• OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
• OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and doesnot hold a Michigan Rn license.
• OR Completion of a Medical Assistant program with OR without experience.
• OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.
