Job summary

Corewell Health's Troy Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5 North Med Surg with telemetry and video monitoring capabilities. The role involves caring for adults with complex conditions, collaborating with a broad medical team, and supporting patient safety and outcomes.

Orientation includes a full week of corporate onboarding. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 36 hours weekly, with every third weekend. Sign-on bonus up to $1,500 for qualifying new hires.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under RN direction.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher; document services.
• Act as Observer for patients requiring constant observation, in person or via remote video.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to help unit function; document care in EMR.

About the unit 5 North is a 37 bed Medical surgical unit with telemetry monitoring capabilities and 9 patient beds that can utilize video monitoring to enhance patient safety.

RN joining our team must have good critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills to care for patients with complex disease processes that cover a wide spectrum.

Scope of work Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Orientation This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.
