Job summary

Mercy Hospital of Buffalo is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Nights with weekend and holiday rotation provide structured scheduling in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, and BLS within six months of hire. No prior experience is required, with on-the-job training and safety-focused responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• BLS/CPR training preferred within six months of hire.
• Ability to read with comprehension and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.

Summary

Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the patients and/or nursing unit.

Responsibilities

EDUCATION

• High School or GED
• BLS within six (6) months of hire/transfer

EXPERIENCE

• No prior experience needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Mental and physical health sufficient to withstand strenuous activity, bending, lifting, walking.
• Desire and skill to meet the needs of acute care patients.
• Continuous awareness of need for safety measures in patient care.
• To assist other hospital staff in direct patient care.
