Job summary

McLaren Health Care in the Port Huron area is seeking a patient care assistant to work under the direct supervision of a nurse. The role involves performing selected day-to-day care activities and maintaining an environment conducive to patient well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care interventions delegated by the RN to reach treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
• Supports daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and protects patients by following policies.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.
