Job summary

Edgewood University’s Henry Predolin College of Health Sciences seeks a full-time faculty member to teach in the Nurse Anesthesia program. The role collaborates with program directors to develop and refine curriculum, supports student growth, and advances scholarly activity.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in nursing with NBCRNA eligibility and is prepared to teach with technology across graduate-level courses; involvement in accreditation and program enhancement is expected.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing with nurse anesthesia accreditation.
  • MD/PhD or doctoral-level progress in a relevant field preferred.
  • Eligibility for Nurse Anesthetist certification and RN/APRN licensure.

Description of Job

Edgewood University’s Henry Predolin College of Health Sciences is seeking a full‑time, 12‑month faculty position to teach in the Nurse Anesthesia program.

Responsibilities
  • Expertise and experience in health care coordination and service delivery. Work collaboratively with Director(s) in the pre and post licensure nursing programs to teach, develop, implement, refine, revise, and/or evaluate nursing student curriculum and policies. Maintain scholarship and service activities appropriate for rank.
  • Promotes mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Edgewood University and the Henry Predolin College of Health Sciences, School of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse Anesthesia Program.
  • Manages classes and learning environments, selects appropriate materials to support curriculum and provides constructive feedback to students.
  • Delivers effective instruction using technology and a variety of techniques in a manner appropriate to the course objectives.
  • Assesses student learning, designs assessments that measure student growth, aligns assessment with learning opportunities.
  • Promotes continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning, develops and revises curriculum and instructional materials as needed.
  • Participate in processes related to recruitment, selection, admission, advising, and progression of students consistent with the School of Nursing and Edgewood University admission policies, option assessment, and accreditation processes.
  • Pursues professional development and contributes to academic discipline through research, presentations, and publications.
  • Participates in program resource development, including simulation and obtaining intramural and extramural program support.
  • Participate in service through appropriate discipline-specific organizations, educational organizations, statewide boards/committees, or community activities.
  • Serve on Edgewood University and School of Nursing committees as needed and as indicated in School of Nursing bylaws.
  • Represent the University and the School of Nursing at professional activities at local, state, national, and international levels.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Nurse Anesthesia Program Director, School of Nursing Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Strategic Partnership, or Dean.
Job Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited nursing and nurse anesthesia program affiliated with a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field or near completion of a doctoral program (final semester).
  • Current certification and recertification eligibility through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), with eligibility for licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level.
  • Experience with distance education and online teaching modalities.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship, research, and professional service.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and collaborative engagement within an academic community.
