Job summary

Livingston Regional Hospital is seeking a Nurse Aide/Tech - Psychiatric to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of psychiatric care unit nurses. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor behavior, and help maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

The role requires strong communication with patients and staff and adherence to hospital policies and behavioral health standards. Previous psychiatric unit experience is preferred and BLS/CPR training is needed.

Qualifications

• Crisis Management/De-escalation Training required per facility policy.
• Blood Glucose Monitoring Training required per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to meet the psychosocial and physical needs of psychiatric patients.
• Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Monitors patient behavior, reports changes to the nursing staff, and documents observations.
• Assists with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
• Transports patients to various departments for diagnostic tests or treatment.
• Ensures patient rooms are clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintains accurate records and documents patient care activities according to hospital policies.
• Participates in patient treatment plans and therapeutic activities.
• Observes for environmental safety risks, including suicide prevention and infection control measures.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the care team to foster a positive environment.
