Job summary

Trustwell Living, LLC seeks a dedicated Resident Services assistant to provide personal care, housekeeping, laundry, and meal support while promoting dignity and independence for residents. You will assist with ADLs, monitor resident status, and help with social activities.

Responsibilities include adhering to infection control, following service plans, and reporting changes to nursing staff to ensure a safe, home-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivers services as indicated on resident service plans (bathing, toileting, mobility, transfers).
• Receives and relays reports between shifts and with designated supervisors.
• Maintains a clean, safe, home-like environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Monitors and reports changes in resident status or needs to nursing staff.
• Participates in infection control procedures and safety training.
• Assists with meals and feeding as required and supports independence.
• Supports residents in social/recreational activities and communicates any concerns.

Position Summary

Responsible for Resident services and other duties as assigned, and the appropriate delegation of duties to the other staff and volunteers. Duties include personal services housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, delegated tasks, medication assistance, meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident well-being.

Position Responsibilities

• Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Resident.
• Receives and gives report from the previous shift.
• Reviews assignments with Designated Supervisor.
• Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with Resident records as required.
• Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities.
• Assists with instrumental activities of daily living, ADL’s, environmental orientation, assistance with other care while encouraging self-care and independence.
• Assists with setting up, serving meals, and cleaning up afterwards.
• Provides services as indicated on Resident service plans, including but not limited to bathing assistance, toileting assistance, transfer, and mobility assistance.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
• Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors, including housekeeping services for Residents.
• Observes problems, concerns, and issues with Resident units, the building, and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
• Observes changes in Resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them appropriately.
• Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately.
• Observes all work, safety, and administrative rules.
• Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
• Records Resident information as required..
• Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency situations.
• Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
• Notifies nurse, and/or designated agent(s) of Resident status/change as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability; able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.
• Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
• Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 35 pounds regularly.
• Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping.

Training And Experience

18 – 24 months experience in a similar position, CPR/First Aid certified preferred.

Education

Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. Attendance at mandatory in-service training. Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Meet in-service training hours required for job classification and position.
