Overview

General Purpose: Conduct and coordinate North Bend School District nursing services based on requirements established by district policies, procedures, and protocols, and by state regulations and statutes. The primary duties of this position center around: compliance, developing protocols, training and delegating nursing tasks to staff, and conducting mandatory required trainings.

Elementary Principal(s)

Qualifications
  • Experience in public health nursing, preferably in a school district setting
  • Valid Oregon State Board of Nursing license
  • Ability to obtain certification by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission
  • Hold a current first aid card and CPR card
  • Hold a valid Oregon driver\'s license, automobile insurance and provide own transportation
  • Ability to deal with staff, students and the public in an effective manner and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned)
  • Conducts all required health assessments and develops procedures and protocols for delegation to staff.
  • Evaluate student medical and developmental histories as part of the student\'s management plan.
  • Monitor and update students identified school health.
  • Facilitates health service programs for appraisal, referral and follow-up, including parent notification where further medical evaluation is needed.
  • Plans with the school administration to implement school health laws.
  • Develop and monitor procedures to establish and update health and immunization records.
  • Assist classroom teachers with materials and/or provide required health related lessons to students.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, home health department professionals, and other community agencies.
  • Conduct mandatory trainings to staff as required by law.
  • Establish guidelines and monitor the functioning of four schools health rooms
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Requirements

Requires standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine motor and gross motor skills, bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. Ability to lift students as required and has the stamina to stand all day, every day of the week as needed.

Commences as soon as possible

Annual salary range: $51,702.25 - $88,871.47
