Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks a Program Administration and Management Support professional to coordinate nursing care on the Neurodiagnostic Institute unit in Indianapolis. You will organize patient care, assist in treatment planning, and supervise support staff to ensure timely documentation and smooth operations.

Successful candidates will hold an Associate or Bachelor's in Nursing, Indiana RN license, CPR certification, and relevant behavioral intervention training.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation and support to staff on the unit.
• Assess and document individuals' status from admission to discharge.
• Administer medications and treatments per facility policies.
• Develop and adjust nursing care plans as needed.
• Monitor medication administration and clinical observations for staff.
• Educate individuals and families about medications and treatment goals.
• Respond to emergencies and manage safety on the unit.
• Ensure infection control and safety standards are met.

A Day in the Life:

Program Administration Support

• Prioritize and organize the daily care of patients/
• Make care assignments and assist in developing treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff.
• Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and communicate problems to unit supervisors.
• Complete required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Provide orientation and support to staff on the unit.

Program Management Support

• Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of individuals' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge to inform care decisions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to facility policies and procedures..
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for diagnosis or treatment plan changes to adapt to evolving needs.
• Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff.
• Educate individuals and family members regarding medication, procedures, and treatment goals and objectives.
• Respond and intervene in emergency situations and with agitated individuals to maintain safety and therapeutic environment.
• Ensure proper safety and infection control standards are met for the unit to protect staff and individuals.

What You'll Need for Success:

An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, an active Indiana Registered Nurse license, and current CPR certification, along with ongoing completion of behavioral intervention training relevant to the assigned setting.
