Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking an NR Welder in Indiana to perform a broad range of welding operations using manual, automatic, and robotic equipment. You will produce welds that meet NAVSEA nuclear quality standards and follow quality control procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of welding experience, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Candidates with certification or a welding program degree may be accepted in lieu of experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, typically with a minimum of 2 years of welding experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to weld at extreme temperatures and in various environments, including elevated platforms, confined spaces, and multiple welding positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform layouts, read and interpret blueprints/specifications, and set up, align, and level workpieces according to job requirements.
• Select and use proper wire, flux, weld gauges, and welding machine setting, including wire feed and electrode adjustments.
• Attach and maintain preheat equipment, verify material identity/characteristics, and install or remove mechanical round-out rings.
• Prepare and finish weld areas by buffing, grinding, arc-airing defect, and grinding completed weld to drawing requirements.
