Job summary

Analytic Services, Inc. (ANSER) seeks a Nuclear Weapons Council Staff Analyst to support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Nuclear Matters. Translate complex stockpile assessments into concise summaries for senior leadership and coordinate with interagency stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in National Security, International Studies, Legislation, Nuclear Studies, or related fields; Master’s degree equivalent to 3 years experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in nuclear deterrent policy or related fields.
  • Experience with complex congressional, budget, and acquisition issues.
  • Experience delivering client-ready written products for senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex nuclear deterrent issues into clear summaries for senior leadership.

  • Analyze DOW/DOE/NNSA nuclear budgets for congressional budgeting and decision-making.

Position Summary: Analytic Services, Inc. (ANSER) is actively seeking aNuclear Weapons Council Staff Analyst to work in support of the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Nuclear Matters. In this key role, you will directly support the Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) Staff by conducting in-depth research, rigorous analysis, and seamless coordination on a wide range of issues related to the U.S. nuclear deterrent mission and posture. You will be responsible for translating complex nuclear stockpile portfolio assessments into clear, concise summaries for senior Department of War (DOW) leadership. This position does not permit hybrid or remote work with all job duties performed full-time onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Translate complex nuclear deterrent issues into clear, concise summaries, status papers, white papers, and other deliverables for senior DOW leadership.
  • Coordinate with NWC stakeholders across the interagency and support the Office of the Secretary of War's (OSW) statutory and presidentially mandated reporting, including data collection, drafting, analysis, and coordination of deliverables.
  • Execute detailed, rigorous analysis of DOW and DOE/NNSA nuclear deterrent budgets to support the congressional budget cycle, statutory assessments, and senior leader decision-making.
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the NWC Staff and Office of the Deputy Assistant Sectary of War for Nuclear Matters.
  • Support the execution of NWC and subordinate meetings. Provide comprehensive meeting support, including logistics, scheduling, slide development, capturing minutes, tracking action items, and other duties as directed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in National Security, International Studies, Legislation, Nuclear Studies, or other related fields. A Master’s degree is equivalent to 3 years of additional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in nuclear deterrent policy or related fields.
  • Experience with complex congressional, budget, and acquisition issues.
  • Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder issues with competing interests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience delivering client-ready written products (memos, briefs, reports, speeches, etc.) for senior and executive management.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in National Security, International Studies, Legislation, Nuclear Studies, or other related fields.
  • Experience with the NWC and its subordinate committees.
  • Experience applying comprehensive knowledge of DOW and DOE
