Job summary

Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a qualified technician to assist with equipment and system operation per design, including startup, work orders, inventory, sampling, electrical/mechanical systems, control room panels and cleaning.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree with 2–5 years (or 6–9 years) of experience; DOE/DOD nuclear project knowledge; US citizenship and ability to obtain a site badge. Full-time role with security clearance pathway.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of DOE, DOD and/or commercial nuclear construction projects.
• Knowledge of Bechtel's 'Zero Accidents' safety program.
• In-depth knowledge of 10 CFR 851.21 and hazard integrated administrative controls.
• Must be a US citizen. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
• Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.

Responsibilities

• Assists with operation of equipment and systems in accordance with the process design requirements
• Supports preparation of work orders for servicing and repairs and submits to Lead Operator/Maintenance personnel
• Supports preparation of systems for minor maintenance
• Provides support for completion of shift reports
• Supports with the preparation of inventory reports and orders chemicals when needed
• Supports routine sampling and analytical work.
• Supports the commissioning and operation of facility and other utility systems
• Records and evaluates system operating parameters for comparison to design
• Identifies equipment problems and initiates equipment repair documentation
• Provides support for emergency response activities per plant programs and training (fire, medical, environmental)
