Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI, seeks a Nuclear Construction Shielding Mechanic to cut, fit, and install lead and plastic shielding for submarine construction. This role requires a crafts-person with hands-on carpentry or painting experience and the ability to read plans and shipyard procedures.

You will work across shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and receive job-specific training, gain shielding qualifications, and join a team focused on safety, quality, and timely delivery of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2+ years related technical experience.
• Carpentry experience or training and/or construction experience (or relevant work experience).
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Able to work in confined spaces, heights and extreme temperature conditions as required.
• Available to work all shifts.
• Ability to qualify for Lead and Poly installation.
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities
