Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Nuclear Safety Engineer Supervisor to lead the Nuclear Safety Engineering team for projects in the Aiken, SC or Richland, WA area. The role involves coordinating discipline engineering with other teams, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

The candidate should have a strong background in nuclear safety, DOE-related work, and experience supervising a technical staff. Travel may be required and a US citizenship is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 6+ years of relevant work experience.
• MS/MA in engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• 2+ years in supervisory role.
• Intermediate level of knowledge within a specific discipline and an understanding of other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the discipline's engineering with other disciplines.
• Maintain records, files, and documents for the discipline.
• Ensure engineering documents comply with state regulations; affix seal when required.
• Assign preparers/checkers and coordinate reviews of external specs.
• Establish schedules and budgets to meet project requirements with approvals.
• Coordinate technically with Principal Engineer for codes and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit periodic discipline status reports and forecasts.
• Maintain licenses and pursue continuing education as required.
