Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company seeks a Project Manager II to lead small to large scale O&M and Capital projects, overseeing budgets and schedules from definition through deployment. You will coordinate internal and external resources, manage scope, and communicate status to stakeholders while driving risk mitigation and project execution.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years of project leadership experience (nuclear preferred) and strong MS Office/AI tool proficiency.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years leading and managing projects (preferred) or 12 years with high school diploma.
• Eight to ten (8-10) years’ experience at a commercial nuclear power plant preferred.
• CAPM or PMP certification recommended / within 2 years of becoming Project Manager II.
• Strong attention to schedule deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
• Proven ability to communicate with all levels of management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and AI tools.
• Willing and able to travel domestically to vendor/company locations.

• Assign and monitor resources for project efficiency and deliverables.
• Report outcomes and risks to management and escalate as needed.
• Perform Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Project Manager II will be responsible for managing small to large scale O&M and Capital projects associated with and including budget maintenance, and adherence to projects schedule/milestones. This role builds and develops the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation, leads projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation, coordinates internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget, analyzes project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met and establishes and maintains relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.

• Demonstrated delivery of projects within cost and schedule constraints involving multiple vendors and coordination of a variety of internal work.
• Providing a high level of customer service, continuous day-to-day support to peers/groups and proactive involvement to leadership, fellow peers and customers.
• Focusing on continuous improvement and providing leadership on initiatives and projects.
• Drive project team adherence to online and outage work management milestones.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability to identify issues, assess alternatives and risks, and implement solutions while keeping overall project on track.
• Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
• Develop and maintain high quality project management documentation.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers
• Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
• Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escape issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
• Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management with eight to ten (8-10)years of experience leading and managing projects (preferred) OR High School diploma with twelve (12)years of experience leading and managing projects.
• Eight to ten (8-10) years’ experience at a commercial nuclear power plant preferred.
• Professional certification such as CAPM or PMP recommended / within 2 years of becoming Project Manager II.
• Strong attention to schedule deadlines and budgetary guidelines
• Proven success working with all levels of management.
• Strong written and oral/verbal communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations to management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AI applications.
• Willing and able to support domestic travel (including overnight travel) to various vendor / company locations.
