Qualifications

  • PhD in nuclear engineering or nuclear physics or MS with policy experience.
  • 4–7 years in nuclear technical analysis, research, or policy.
  • Equivalent education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical analysis on reactor safety, radiation protection, and radiological impact.
  • Prepare comments and filings for NRC licensing actions and rulemakings.
  • Analyze nuclear waste management and decommissioning issues.
  • Use modeling tools for safety and dispersion analyses.
  • Advise policymakers and NRDC staff on nuclear energy policy.
  • Communicate findings to non-expert audiences through blogs and briefings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across NRDC offices and partners.
