Framatome North America in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Installed Base Outage Services team. You will perform non-standard engineering tasks, develop tooling for reactor outages, and ensure safety and compliance across designs and field work.

The role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and problem solving, with opportunities to impact maintenance planning, fuel handling, and tool development for PWR and BWR fleets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; related fields may be accepted.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of engineering standards and criteria.
• Good communication to convey technical data.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Background in tooling development, especially underwater.
• Experience in the nuclear industry.
• Experience with SolidWorks and SMARTEAM.
• Knowledge of reactor disassembly and fuel handling activities.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-standard engineering, varied tasks in design, development, analysis, testing and field tasks.
• Receives minimal instruction and works autonomously on most assignments.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations and standards.
• Independently applies techniques and criteria with adaptations.
• Continues to develop knowledge of processes and customers.
• Works on special projects and tooling development.
• Provides suggestions for process improvements.
