Job summary

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) seeks a qualified Operations support professional to assist in H Area Complex operations, training, and safety readiness. You will monitor procedures, support conduct of operations, and communicate concerns to ensure safe and efficient facility performance.

Requirements include an Associate's degree with certification or on-the-job training and 1.5 years of related experience, or a high school diploma with 3+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in relevant field plus completion of certification or on-the-job training with at least 1.5 years of experience.
• High school diploma plus certification or on-the-job training with at least three years of experience.
• Equivalencies to experience and education will be considered; higher education may be required for some DOE positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide Operations support at H Area Complex to assist in successful facility operations, training, Safety Basis, procedures, readiness, and drills.
• Help minimize radiation and contamination exposure during preplanning of work.
• Observe procedures and records to ensure conduct of operations standards are followed.
• Communicate concerns to management and other staff to ensure safe operations.
• Perform administrative tasks such as management briefings and reporting observations.

Salary Note

This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate’s qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors.

Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Provide Operations support to SRNS at H Area Complex to accomplish support activities. Primary responsibilities include H Area oversight support functions to contribute to successful facility operations, training, Safety Basis, procedures, readiness, and drills/emergency response. Assist with minimizing radiation and contamination exposure by providing assistance during the preplanning of work. Observe work from procedures, training, shift logs, and verbal turnover to ensure expected Conduct of Operations procedures are followed. Communicate concerns and issues observed to management, and other support personnel to ensure safe, effective Conduct of Operations. Perform administrative functions such as performing briefings to management and documenting observations in a report. Knowledge of H Area and working in a contaminated environment is preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in relevant field plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training plus at least 1.5 years of experience (YOE) in an applicable role, OR
• High school diploma plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training plus at least three years of experience (YOE) in an applicable role
• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered. Some Operations positions have higher education levels as required by DOE Order 426.2.
