Job summary

CDL Nuclear Technologies is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Radioisotope Installation Technologist for weekend part-time shifts based in the South Bend, IN hub. You will install, remove and manage Rb-82 generators within CardioGen82 infusion systems, ensuring safety, accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience with hot lab environments, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across a nationwide network of sites.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Nuclear Cardiology / Cardiac PET imaging.
• Hands-on experience with CardioGen82 infusion systems or similar hot lab environments.
• Solid understanding of radiation safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove Rb-82 generators within CardioGen82 infusion systems.
• Operate infusion equipment safely during installation, removal, and QC processes.
• Manage radioisotopes in accordance with established protocols and safety procedures.
• Maintain NRC/state regulatory compliance and follow ALARA principles.
• Prepare spent generators for shipment and complete transport documentation.
• Perform and document quality control procedures and troubleshoot generator or system issues.
• Collaborate with Clinical Applications and operations teams at HUB sites.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

The Role

As a Radioisotope Installation Technologist, you will play a critical role in supporting CDL’s CardioNavix HUB operations. You will be responsible for the installation, removal, and management of Rb-82 generators within the CardioGen82 infusion system, ensuring accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance at every step.

This role operates with a high level of autonomy and requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Generator Installation & System Operation

• Perform installation and removal of Rb-82 generators within CardioGen82 infusion systems
• Operate infusion equipment safely during installation, removal, and quality control processes
• Manage radioisotopes in accordance with established protocols and safety procedures

Radiation Safety & Compliance

• Maintain strict compliance with NRC and state regulatory requirements
• Follow ALARA principles in all handling of radioactive materials

Shipping & Generator Return

• Prepare spent generators for shipment and ensure compliance with carrier regulations
• Complete all necessary documentation for transport and return (including FedEx requirements)

Quality Control & Troubleshooting

• Perform and document all required quality control procedures
• Assist in troubleshooting generator or system performance issues
• Maintain knowledge of hot lab equipment and QC standards

Collaboration & Field Support

• Partner with Clinical Applications and operations teams to support HUB activity
• Assist with in‑services, training, and operational support as needed
• Maintain professional communication with internal teams and field staff

Documentation & Accountability

• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely
• Ensure all installations and removals meet operational and safety standards
• Work the hours necessary to complete installations and QC processes properly
