Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from a CAAHEP-approved school.
  • Current ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification and South Carolina license.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist - PRN Opportunity

Join to apply for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist - PRN Opportunity role at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform health care services utilizing radiopharmaceuticals to assist in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures and produce images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Conduct equipment quality control and report deficiencies.
  • Prepare room, equipment, radiopharmaceuticals, and materials for procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked procedure room daily.
  • Calibrate equipment daily and ensure proper functioning; notify supervisor of issues.
  • Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and assist during procedures.
  • Send images to PACS and verify their availability for interpretation.
  • Perform clerical duties, including filing, darkroom, and transportation tasks.
  • Practice patient care according to ARMC policy, considering age-related factors.
  • Assist radiologists during procedures and take films as requested.
  • Schedule exams efficiently for the Radiology department.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Ensure patient charges are accurate and entered into the EHR timely.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals as directed, adjusting doses for age and weight.
  • Obtain and document verbal and telephone orders per policy (for ARRT licensed staff).
  • Rotate to other imaging departments as needed, including holiday and on-call rotations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from a CAAHEP-approved school.
  • One-year experience preferred.
  • Current ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification and South Carolina license from SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.
