RAYUS Radiology in Minnesota is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. You will operate scanners to produce diagnostic images with patient-centered care in a supportive environment. This casual/PRN day shift position offers flexible scheduling.

Requirements include NMTCB registered technologist, AMA-approved radiography program, state licensure if applicable, CPR, and imaging certification. Bilingual and PET/PET/CT registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be NMTCB registered and in good standing.
• Graduate of AMA-approved school of radiography.
• Licensed radiological technologist in the applicable state.
• CPR certification with ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures.
• Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures following safety and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals per NRC and departmental policies.
• Explain procedures to patients and position them for imaging.
• Maintain patient records in RIS and ensure equipment safety.
• Assist with quality control and department surveys as needed.

The pay range for this position is $30.14-$55.18 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologistto join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centred approach, you will provide Nuclear Medicine services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.This is a casual/PRN position working day shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Nuclear Medicine Imaging

• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
• Explains and prepares patients for Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
• Performs routine and advanced Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
• Assesses, prepares, records and administers radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and departmental policies
• Demonstrates knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services
• Adjusts Nuclear Medicine scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
• Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
• Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
• Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
• Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
• Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines

(5%) Nuclear Medicine Department Support

• Performs and records daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation
• Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance of radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission
• Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer
• Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
• Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
• Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

• NMTCB registered technologist, current and in good standing
• Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationMust have training and experience sufficient to competently perform Nuclear Medicine procedures independently
• Certification in imaging specialty

• Bilingual
• Registered/licensed in PET and PET/CT
